I’ve seen a few fashion posts trying to expand the “Marie Antoinette is not Victorian” rant, but this stuff can get complicated, so here is a semi-comprehensive list so everyone knows exactly when all of these eras were.

Please note that this is very basic and that there are sometimes subcategories (especially in the 17th century, Jacobean, Restoration, etc)

And people wonder WHY I complain about History/Art History periodization. Note how much overlap there is to the above “eras”, and how many exceptions and extensions there are to these categories.

Oh, and by the way…

Because you wouldn’t want to be historically inaccurate.

Have you seen this pattypan squash at your local farmers market? It was too neat for me to not grab and give a go! Tastes similar to a normal zucchini or squash, but it’s so pretty it’s that much more gratifying to eat! 👏👏👏😍😍😍 I stuffed mine with veggies I had left over that I simply sauteed, so feel free to adjust this recipe to suit your current leftover produce situation!
INGREDIENTS
1 pattypan squash, top cut off, insides scooped out. (Get rid of the guts, but you can keep the actual squash flesh that you remove for your stuffing!)
2 Tbsp chopped onion
1/2 tsp garlic
2 Tbsp black beans
1 roma tomato, chopped
1/2 cup chopped spinach
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cumin
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbsp mozzarella cheese

PROCEDURE
🌟Preheat oven to 350F.
🌟Sautee all vegetables for your stuffing in a pan. Add beans.
🌟Cook until spinach is wilted and beans heated through.
🌟Stuff pattypan squash with stuffing. Top with mozzarella. Bake both stuffed squash and top in oven for 7-10 minutes, until squash is cooked through and cheese is melted.

NUTRITION per serving (yields 1)
92 calories, 16g carbs, 2g fat, 6g protein

If you get the chance, definitely try these before they’re out of season! Such a fun dish!
